, but while looking at one out of curiosity yesterday the local dealer kept pushing “an even better deal on a GTI”, with discounts as big -dollar wise- as the Rs. Went back to cars.com and indeed, they are all over. Seems to me a base GTI in the teens is pretty damn amazing, there is even one listed with DSG.
Anyway, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (no financial interest on my part, BTW)!

I intend on picking one up in the July-August time frame. Hopefully the deals stay good. I think they would based on the upcoming refresh release.

Meh, oh well. I’m not going to rush it. Figured these were S models anyway. I’m looking for the sport

My guess is that similar deals are available across the range. I was just amazed to see $7K discounts on MSRPs above $26K

That’s insane. If all of that is legit, that is crazy.
I would not be shocked if they advertised incentives that all customers may qualify for. Things like Owner Loyalty and what not.

I was too honestly. Even at the base model, a GTI is a good package. The sport trim adds the sport pack which give better brakes, LSD and a bit more power. I’m finding those for plenty under MSRP right now too, some less than base S MSRP. Pretty crazy.
